Chelsea Clinton Just Made One of the Most Outrageous Comments of the Year

Chelsea Clinton was on SiriusXM radio recently, and stated that returning to a pre Roe v. Wade era would be “unchristian”. She stated that women were participating in unsafe abortion practices before Roe, and that “we just can’t go back”.

Clinton also stated that the Supreme Court Decision Planned Parenthood v. Casey in 1992 decided that “[women’s] ability to participate fully in society including economically, hinges on our ability to make choices for our bodies and [for] our families”.

One of the other women who was a part of the discussion also chimed in, stating that anti-choice (pro-life) people and gun lovers are some of the “ugliest”.

There are so many things completely wrong and immoral with this discussion:

1. Chelsea Clinton is misreading the Planned Parenthood v. Casey decision. The case specifically elaborated on the validity and constitutionality of laws restricting abortion. The new standard set by this decision is whether or not the law restricting abortion imposes an “undue burden” on the mother of the baby. An undue burden is defined in the case as a “substantial obstacle in the path of a woman seeking an abortion before the fetus attains viability.”

The case does not mention women being able to make choices for “their bodies”. Nurturing the life of a baby in the womb should not be downgraded to the equivalency of choosing whether or not to get a tattoo, as much as leftists would like for that to be true. In other words, abortion is not a “healthcare” or “bodily” decision— it is the taking of another life whether one wants to admit it or not.

Both Roe. v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey are wrongly decided because 1. it puts the self convenience of the mother over the value of another human life and 2. The decisions, specifically Roe v. Wade, are unequivocally unconstitutional.

2. Calling yourself “deeply religious” and the overturn of Roe v. Wade “unchristian” in the same sentence is another level of self-contradiction. The religiosity of Chelsea Clinton will not be speculated upon or assumed, but one has to admit how “unchristian” her statement is. Nothing is more Christian than standing up for life, both in and outside of the womb.

3. People need to realize the self contradictory tactics of the left. Pro-life and pro-gun people are demonized by the left because these stances are seen as harmful to women and other lives. In reality, being pro-life means standing up for all lives and not tolerating the murder of babies in the womb. Self convenience is never a justification for abortion. Pro-gun individuals also care about preserving lives, as we have a right to self defense in this country, and we also have a duty to protect our fellow Americans from harm. So who are the real “ugly” ones here?

In 100 years, people will look down with disgust on abortion just like we look down on slavery today. It is a morally reprehensible and repugnant evil, and calling limitations to it “unchristian” is just as disgusting.
