It Is Not Racist to State Where COVID-19 Originated

The Coronavirus Disease of 2019 (COVID-19) started in Wuhan China a few months ago. The virus was transmitted to humans after an individual in the country ate an exotic animal, became infected, and passed the disease on to others. The Wuhan virus has since spread throughout the world and it has turned into a global pandemic at proportions unseen for over a century.

As of March 20th 2020, over 275,000 individuals have contracted the virus across the world, according to Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. Over 11,000 individuals have died, and over 87,000 have recovered. The illness is said to have a very high transmission, infection, and death rate.

Countries across the world are on lockdown, which is causing both the global economy and people’s livelihoods to suffer. The Wuhan virus is definitely not a thing to joke about, and it should absolutely be taken seriously.

As the world suffers through this global pandemic, it should be noted that many people are attempting to discredit individuals who call COVID-19 the ‘Wuhan Virus’ or the ‘Chinese Virus’.

To put it in plain terms: the radical left has lost it and is defending Chinese propaganda. It is not racist to simply state COVID-19’s place of origin. The Chinese Communist Party is putting out propaganda by stating that the Wuhan Coronavirus started in America. We have a duty to debunk these lies.

Just a few days ago, a prominent Chinese Politician pushed a false conspiracy theory that the United States Military brought the Wuhan Virus to their country. It is disingenuous and wrong for well-known media personalities and many on the left to denounce the President for simply pushing back against these false claims.

Moreover, if you’re blaming President Trump and the U.S. government for the spread of the Wuhan virus, and not a lack of action by the Chinese Communist Party, then your priorities aren’t in the right place. People’s hate for President Trump has caused them to look unintelligent.

The Chinese Communist Party actively suppressed reports in their country about this virus months ago, and even imprisoned a doctor who tried to leak information about COVID-19 to other countries. If the Chinese Government truly cares about the well-being of the world, then why did they attempt to preserve their deceitful reputation instead of lives?

Americans who are serious about preventing the spread of the Wuhan coronavirus will not inject themselves into petty political fights by blaming President Trump for something he clearly didn’t perpetrate— and they surely will not buy into the blatant lie that the U.S. Military started this pandemic.

The Chinese Communist Party is historically untrustworthy and mendacious. Americans and the world should be wary of reports from China that they have the virus under complete control. Again, one of the CCP’s main goals is to preserve their outward image to the rest of the globe. That being said, we should hope and pray that these numbers are true.

It will be very interesting to see how this pandemic affects the world in these coming months. When it pertains to misinformation, Americans need to heed the necessary warnings from healthcare professionals and our government officials. We have a duty to be informed of the truth— not propaganda.
